Mounted points are used for blending contours, deburring molded parts, ID grinding, offhand bench grinding and tool and die applications.
All PTA mounted points are industry standard 60 grit abrasive, come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes and are manufactured of salmon or grey aluminum oxide in a vitrified bond.
Salmon mounted points are best applied to steel or cast steel, grey are best for hard or tougher surfaces
Salmon mounted points are a mixture of dark red and white aluminum oxide, producing a good balance of stock removal and tool life.
The hardness grade "ËœM" is the most universally used bond for work on stock removal and light deburring on steel and cast steel.
Grey mounted points are a mixture of regular and white aluminum oxide, producing a high stock removal rate during heavier duty grinding applications such as hard and tough steel surfaces.
Application
Blending contours, deburring molded parts, ID grinding, rough or finish grinding of weld seems, offhand bench grinding and tool and die applications.
Used in the welding, machining, automotive, manufacturing and shipyard industries.
