The DeWalt MAX XR™ 2 Tool Combo ½” Hammer Drill and ¼” Impact Driver Kit is built as a high power tool set that is compact and can fit into tight areas.
Power
This kit comes with one 20V / 60V MAX™ Flexvolt 6.0AH/2.0AH Lithium Ion Battery that automatically changes voltages according to what tool it is powering. Get 4x the runtime of 1.5Ah battery and 3x the power compared to an 18V battery.
20V MAX XR™ Extreme Runtime Premium Li-Ion batteries supply up to 60% more runtime per charge than standard 20V MAX™ li-ion batteries. LED fuel gauge on battery gives immediate info on charge level, so there’s no guessing on how much power you have left. Get more power and a considerably longer run-time with these batteries.
The charger has a hot/cold charge delay and will start charge once the battery is at optimal temperature. This feature keeps the batteries working in prime condition and helps reduce electrical shocks and fires.
Takes about 1 hour to charge the 20V MAX XR™ Extreme Runtime Premium Li-Ion batteries with the included charger, helping to keep downtime to a minimum.
Motor
20V MAX XR™ Extreme Runtime tools are built with a brushless motor making them cooler running while giving them double the runtime of brushed motors, PLUS, they are up to 38% lighter and 57% faster than other 18V li-ion tools, making these tools better for operator health and all day use.
20V MAX XR™ ½” Brushless Hammer Drill (DCD996B)
Is built for hammer drilling, drilling and screw driving in dry conditions and delivers 820 UWO of maximum power. Has an ultra-durable and heavy-duty ½” ratcheting nitro-carburized metal chuck that has carbide inserts giving this chuck the best bit grip possible.
This drill has a variable speed trigger built to help the operator keep control of the drill, and to make it easier to start drilling without the bit slipping or the tool twisting. Equipped with a break, the drill will stop rotating when the trigger is released, and also has a forward, reverse and lock control button for extra safety.
Has a built-in light that will power on when the trigger is activated. Three light modes can be selected with a switch located on the foot of the drill. Low, medium and spotlight modes allow for optimum lighting control of your work area. The low and medium modes will shut off 20 seconds after the drill stops running. The spotlight mode stays on for 20 minutes after the tool is stopped to act as a flashlight and help you continue to see what you are working on.
Has an electronic, fully adjustable, 11 torque settings screwdriver option. This makes it possible to drive and remove a huge selection of fastener sizes. Also, comes with 3 speeds: Speed 1 is the highest speed setting and provides the greatest amount of torque where speed 3 is the lowest. Speed 1 does 0 - 2,000 RPM, speed 2 does 0 - 1,300 and speed 3 does 0 - 450 RPM.
The side handle has 360° rotation capabilities to accommodate all users and provide greater control over the drill.

20V MAX XR™ 1/4” Brushless Impact Driver Drill (DCF887B)
Built for impact screw driving and to be super compact for driving fasteners into wood, metal, and concrete in the tightest of spaces.
This drill has a variable speed trigger built-in to help the operator keep control of the drill, and to make it easier to start drilling without the bit slipping or the tool twisting. Equipped with a break, the drill will stop rotating when the trigger is released, and also has a forward, reverse and lock control button for extra safety.
Use ¼” hex accessories with this impact driver drill. Will accept 1” long hex bits, allowing the tool to be as compact as possible for those crammed work spaces.
Has three modes that allow you to control the torque of the tool where the trigger adjusts the speed. Mode 1 is Precision Drive which slows down the drill once the screw head reaches the workpiece, then it will go into a slow controlled drive to make sure the head is totally flush with the work surface, leaving a perfect unmarred finish at 0-1,000 RPM. Mode 2 is Normal Impacting at 0-2,800 RPM, and Mode 3 is High Speed Impacting at 0-3,250 RPM.
